The Washington State Attorney General’s (AG) office called a recent Environmental review fictional. They and the State Department of Ecology (DOE) recently submitted written comments to Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (PSCAA) regarding a Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (DSEIS) that could have substantial long-term effects on the rights and lives of the Puyallup Tribe as well as local citizens. Copies of these letters were shared with NDN after being obtained via a Public Records Request.
A Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant is being built on Medicine Creek Treaty land at the Port of Tacoma. It has been the subject of fierce opposition by tribal and local groups. In January, PSCAA ordered a review of the original EIS to analyze the effects of greenhouse gas (GHG).
